“I’m dying to move again!!”

Hi Ladies! How are you doing? For those of you here in the UK – how blummin miserable is this weather! Sigh….clocks gone back, dark nights…lovely.

Sooo…did you have a good weekend? As always, it was over in the blink of an eye and here we find ourselves plodding through Monday once again. Usually, Mondays are the start of the onslaught of the working week, however, now they just signify the start of the five day rundown til Phil is off again. I think husbands should be allowed more time off when they have a newborn….

Anyway, like I mentioned last time, I’m gradually starting to feel inspired in the kitchen again. I’m enjoying re-visiting foods that I loved prior to my journey into Bumpsville….yeah pregnancy had me wanting cheese sarnies and apple juice all the time! Speaking of bumpsville……

“Bump” right before I went to theatre!

Yeah that was me in the hospital preparing for the emergence of this little fella….

Awwwww :-)

Who’d have guessed he’d be so cute :-) Anyway…..this week I’ve enjoyed lots of “old” things…….like pumpkin…..

Pumpkin chia yogurt with cinnamon and stevia

pumpkin porridge with cinammon, naner, almond butter, raisins

Greek yogurt, chia seeds and blueberries

Eggs have also been making an appearance (I need to change the name of my blog again as I am planning to keep eggs in my diet from now on) I’ve been reading about their health benefit s and they’re a nutritional powerhouse don’t ya know? ;-)

Egg, spinach, peppers and squash roasted in coconut oil, cucumber

Omelette a la Phil! With balsamic dressing and pea shoot salad

Phil makes the best omelettes :-) Hmmmm….is that how you spell omelette?

Socca cooked in a pan with melted coconut oil, spicy tomato tofu paste, spinach and tomato salad

All hail SOCCA!!! I blummin love socca!!! Cooked in a pan with coconut oil – this adds to the flavour and is waaaay better than olive oil in this instance. I promptly chopped the socca in half and made a tofu-salad-socca-sarnie and it was delicious! I sense a socca phase coming! :-)

I’ve also been getting my daily dose of this……

Hello mister!

Zzzzzzzz…….

Mmmmmmm!!! He’s just too yummy!! :-)

Leo and kitchen crusades aside, I’m still gradually recovering from my C Section – it has been REALLY tough to be so inactive for the last 10 weeks. I know I have a newborn baby and have had “major abdominal surgery” (sick of hearing that!) but it has reached the stage where I really want to feel like myself again and thus get back into the exercise groove. I’m considering buying a spin bike so that I can work out when Leo takes his morning nap. That way I’ll not miss out on any precious time with him :-)

I got quite annoyed with one of the midwives who said that I shouldn’t be exercising now I have a baby….oh yeah, I’ll just morph into someone else!!!  Anyway…whatever…I have plenty of new fitness goals but more on those next time :-)

love to you all!

xoxo

  1. WHAT?! Okay, clearly the mid-wife who told you that has no idea how much exercise can help anyone’s life physically and mentally no matter whether they’ve had a baby or not and having a baby does not change who you are, it is an lovely addition to your life! GRRR!! Ignore her :) But I would say get back into it slowly and when you are sure your body is ready okay? I want to hear of no injuries from you missy! :)
I blummin LOVE socca too!!! I make loads and keep them in the freezer for snacks haha ;) I am actually trying to get myself to attempt eating eggs and liking them because of how good they are for you…I think I’m preferring them omelette (I don’t know if you spell it like that either :P ) or scrambled style because boiled the yolk kinda freaks me out hehe!
That picture of you with your bump is lovely…I still think it’s crazy how he’s not in there anymore haha!! xxxx

  2. Emm, you looked beautiful all the way through your pregnancy and you look just as beautiful now… I don’t know how you look so great on so little sleep, but I think being a mummy suits you! :) I know not being able to exercise is so frustrating, but you’ll get back to it soon enough. Mmm, those salads look delicious! Maybe I’ll get the recipe off you and kid myself it’s still summer? ;) Big hugs xxxx

  3. Bless him, he’s so adorable and I know this will sound silly but it’s so mad to think he was in the Bumpsville not so long ago!
On an exercise front, my friend was the same in that everyone said “You’ll never be able to ride once you’ve had your baby” – as soon as the six weeks was up, she was riding again and she still is, two years later! So you go girl :-)
