What happens after 10 weeks of disturbed sleep? Well, you forget stuff, lots of stuff. Especially words in the middle of a sentence. Next, you start seeing things out of the corner of your eye, like little flashes of movement. At first I thought there were spiders crawling across the floor or flies coming in through an open window. Then I convinced myself I could see ghosts moving in the background. Then I realised I was just totally sleep deprived.
What happens when a sleep deprived person is up all night after 10 weeks of disturbed sleep? Well, after wishing they could jump in their baby’s basket with them and sleep the hours away, they realise that they are blummin hungry!!! Yep, this morning, 4 feeds, 3 nappy changes and several reassuring cuddles later than the night before, I entered the kitchen thinking “Green smoothie” whilst simultaneously whipping up a cocoa socca pancake stack. Banana and tahini made great fix-ins.

Sigh………..
Then I put the TV on and promptly fell asleep at the beginning of “Come Dine With Me”, only to be woken by Leo as the final credits were rolling.
Do your pancake stacks always turn out looking like the Leaning Tower of Pisa like mine?
Man! A difficult night followed by a frustrating day. And now I type this post at 2.03am. My eyes are wide yet my body tired – my body clock is all wonky.
Maybe I’ll post some new mum survival tips once I know what they are!!
xoxo
Oh darling, you are a trooper! I know that being a new Mum is hard – but I swear you’ve had it harder than most!! I really hope you can get some sleep really soon, you poor thing.
Your pancakes look flippin’ amazing! I bet you must be starving all the time with all of that feeding. Make sure you’re eating plenty of snacks!
Big big hugs lovie <3 I wish I could give you some of my energy right now
You're doing so amazing though, being the bestest mum in the whole world to the most special little boy ever and his smiles prove that
Your socca pancakes look so goooood..I love a good socca and you can't go wrong with chocolate flavoured! I've never made a pancake stack though..probably because I'd just dissect them anyway and eat everything individually rather than as a stack in each bite! I'm a funny eater
Bless you! It must be so tough trying to balance everything in life with a beautiful baby too. I hope you get some rest soon and your energy levels pick up. x
Oh bless you, I so feel for you, it must be so, so exhausting… hope you’ve caught up on some sleep since x
I’ve just nominated you for an award by the way
