David Parrott has played a significant role in the development of EKU as an institution. Under his leadership, the university has seen substantial growth in enrollment, research funding, and student success rates. David Parrott has also been instrumental in developing new programs and initiatives, such as the Master of Science in Nursing program and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Parrott’s dedication to improving student experience makes him one of the leading university administrators in Kentucky and in various universities where he taught, such as UF and the University of Louisville.
Profile: David Parrott served as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of New Hampshire. Previously, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at the University of Arkansas. He has also held positions at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the University of Utah, UF, and North Carolina State University.
In his current position, David Parrott oversees all facets of the university’s academic programs, from undergraduate to graduate-level instruction. He oversees financial aid policies and procedures, faculty hiring, and tenure decisions. Additionally, David Parrott is responsible for overseeing research.

He has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Before his time at MU, Dr. David Parrott was the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Washington State University from 2007-2013. During his tenure as a university administrator at WSU, he oversaw a $500 million budget and 2,000+ faculty and staff. Dr. David Parrott also served as the Academic Senate Chair for two years and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
